Gunfire erupted at a Charlotte, North Carolina apartment complex early Saturday morning, August 31, 2019, leaving one young man dead and three other people injured.

As reported by, the shooting happened “just before 1 a.m. at…Apartments, right off University City Boulevard.”

Media outlets report there was a party at one of the apartments and an argument outside the party led to the shooting. is reporting, “[p]olice found Christian Malik Estes, 19, in front of the apartment and two additional female victims were located behind the apartment, all with an apparent gunshot wounds.”

All three victims were taken to the hospital, and Christian Malik Estes later succumbed to his injuries.

A fourth victim was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle and that individual was being treated for a life-threatening gunshot wound to his chest, according to the report.
