Albuquerque, NM – A motor vehicle/bicycle accident Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2025, tragically claimed the life of one young woman.

As reported by KOB.com, “[a] 19-year-old woman died Tuesday afternoon after a crash involving her bicycle and a car in northeast Albuquerque. The crash happened Tuesday at around 2 p.m. on Carlisle Boulevard at Delamar Avenue, just south of Montgomery Boulevard.”

KRQE.com is reporting, “Kayla Vanlandingham lost her life in a tragic accident.”

According to the report, “[a] crosswalk signal stands to warn drivers of pedestrians and cyclists at the intersection…After passing the pedestrian island in the middle of the crosswalk, investigators said one car stops, and the car in the next lane appears to slam on their brakes to stop. But then a Ford Fiesta in the outer lane hits the cyclist.”

The investigation is ongoing.
