Coos County, OR –A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles Friday night, April 18, 2025, tragically claimed the lives of two women.
As reported by KPTV.com, “[a] student athlete and a coach died when a bus carrying [a] Community College softball team home from a game crashed in Coos County on Friday night.
According to the report, “[a]t about 10 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 42, near milepost 23. Officers said they determined that a Chevrolet Silverado driving west crossed the center line of the highway and hit a Chevrolet Express bus carrying 10 members of the team head-on.”
JEMS.com is reporting, “Head coach Jami Strinz and freshman Kiley Jones were [sadly unable to survive] injuries suffered in the crash…Per the report, “[t]he other eight occupants of the bus, whose identities were not yet being released, suffered moderate to serious injuries.”
The investigation is ongoing.
