Three weeks after giving birth to a healthy son, Memphis mother Alexes Jackson speaks out on the violent apartment home invasion she survived while pregnant.

According to FOX 13, an assailant broke into Ms. Jackson’s home “at the Legacy at the Parkway” apartment complex, “took her cellphone, shot her, and left in a white Mercedes vehicle.”

Ms. Jackson told police she “started knocking on doors and screaming for help, but nobody answered,” per FOX 13 reports. “She ran a mile to a friend’s apartment in the 3100 block of Ridgeway, which is where she called 911.”

Security measures are in question after a 15-year-old boy was shot outside of the “Hickory Forest apartments” Thursday morning, October 4, 2018, according to WREG 3.  A man reportedly opened fire on a “group of teens” in the complex parking lot. The young victim fled to a Burger King with a “gunshot wound to the arm.”

The complex was apparently the location of a shooting and home invasion in July, per WREG reports.

An attempted robbery outside a Memphis apartment complex reportedly left one man hospitalized Monday night, June 25, 2018.

According to FOX 13, “the shooting happened at the Keystone Landing Apartments,” shortly before 11:30 p.m. Police told media the victim “was counting money when a suspect…attempted to rob him, then shot him.” The victim was transported to the hospital in “critical condition.”

The apartment complex was apparently the subject of a prior shooting investigation in October 2017, per WREG reports.

Could this unconscionable sexual assault have been prevented and is justice available to the young victim?

Elsa Velasquez bravely fought off an alleged child predator at a Memphis apartment complex Thursday evening, June 7, 2018, rescuing her 3-year-old daughter. In a community all too often silenced through fear, Ms. Velasquez spoke out to protect her child and other families.

According to News 3, the 3-year-old victim was playing with her cousin in the apartment complex courtyard when a man “grabbed her by the hand and pulled her across the parking lot to a wooded area.”

Ms. Velasquez was able to find the suspect and pull him off her daughter by the hair. After he fled, WVLT 8 reports, she courageously tracked him down and reported him to police, so he couldn’t harm any other children.

A pregnant woman was reportedly shot and injured inside her home at the Legacy at the Parkway apartment complex in Memphis Thursday, April 26, 2018.

According to FOX 13, the violent home invasion occurred around 6:00 a.m. at the Legacy at the Parkway Apartments in Hickory Hill. A female suspect apparently “kicked open the door” and shot the pregnant victim multiple times before fleeing with her cellphone. The victim told police she “started knocking on doors and screaming for help, but nobody answered.” She eventually “ran a mile to a friend’s apartment” to call 911.
