Whiteville, NC – Gunfire rang out at an apartment complex late Sunday night, August 24, 2025, leaving one person injured.

As reported by WECT.com, “officers responded to a report of a shooting at 316 West Burkhead Street around 11:30 Sunday night.”

According to the report, “[w]hile on the scene, officers learned that the victim had been taken to Columbus Regional Healthcare System before their arrival. The victim was treated and later transferred to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for further treatment.”
