Valley Cottage, NY News – A man was injured after a work related incident Tuesday afternoon, February 17, 2026.
LOHUD.com is reporting, “Clarkstown Police said officers responded to reports of a construction accident at a work site in the area of Smith Street and Route 9W around 3:15 p.m.”
According to the report, “[o]fficers were told that a 25-year-old male construction worker was removed from a trench by coworkers after the trench walls collapsed on him and trapped him in a large amount of soil.”
WPDH.com is reporting, “Emergency medical personnel from Congers Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics had also responded to the scene of the accident, and immidiately began providing medical aid to the 25-year old. Medical personnel would rush the 25-year old to the hospital for further medical treatment, ultimately arriving at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. The injuries to the victim were described as being life-threatening.”
An investigation into the construction site and accident is ongoing.
