According to The Winston-Salem Journal, officers responded to shots fired outside the “Monterrey Vista Apartments on Woodbriar Path,” around 2:00 a.m. “Somebody inside [a] vehicle fired multiple gunshots at two victims standing outside their apartments,” FOX 8 reports. Both men were transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.

According to WSMV 4 News, ” the gunmen approached a man outside his Whispering Hills apartment on McMurray drive around 1 a.m. Monday and demanded his belongings.” The suspects apparently pistol whipped the victim and opened fire, striking him in the leg, before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported Vanderbilt University Medical Center with injuries.

Police have allegedly since made two arrests in connection with the violent robbery, per WKRN News reports.
