41-year-old Nelson Sosa was reportedly shot and killed at a restaurant in Charlotte Saturday night, June 24, 2017.

According to WCNC News, gunfire erupted at the “Tropical Bar, Restaurant and Game room, located in the 4700 block of Tuckaseegee Road around 10:45 p.m.” The Charlotte Observer reports, Mr. Sosa was transported to the Carolinas Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to fatal injuries.

Neighbors are reportedly searching for a “a solution to the increase in violence” in the local community, per WSOCTV reports.

A shooting at the Bossez Lounge in North Charleston reportedly claimed the life of 32-year-old Dominique Broughton early Tuesday morning, June 27, 2017.

According to The Post and Courier, Mr. Broughton was “shot outside” the “Bossez Lounge” on St. Johns Avenue, shortly before 2:00 a.m. 5 News reports, the parking lot “shooting stemmed from an argument between [Mr. Broughton] and the gunman inside the Bossez Lounge.”

The nightclub was apparently the subject of a prior shooting investigation in August 2015, per 5 News reports. The media investigation reveals, “Between May 2015 and October 2016 there were about 200 calls. Most of them were requests for patrols of the parking lot.”

According to News 6, gunfire erupted in the “parking lot of the Save-A-Lot plaza on 1208 Dixon Blvd.” The young victim was apparently shot while “backing out of [a] parking space.” He was airlifted to the hospital with injuries.

The barbershop owner apparently told Florida Today, he is “dismayed by some of the violence that has happened in Cocoa recently.” Three people were apparently injured in an apartment shooting only “a few blocks west of the plaza” earlier this month.

A shooting outside The Edge at Noda apartment complex reportedly claimed the lives of 29-year-old Jared Chatman and 30-year-old Sanchez McClure Tuesday night, June 20, 2017.

According to The Charlotte Observer, gunfire erupted “at The Edge at NoDa Apartments at 420 Hilo Drive, off North Tryon Street,” around 11:30 p.m. One victim was  discovered “in the stairwell of the apartments and the second victim was just inside the doorway,” per media reports.  Tragically, both young men succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

CMPD has launched an initiative, called “Operation Avalanche,” targeting crime in the area of the shooting, per WBTV News reports.
