Two men are dead after a shooting at a Talladega, AL apartment complex early Sunday morning, March 19, 2023.  

As reported by, “[t]he shootings happened at around 3 a.m. at [apartments] at 500 Sloan Avenue.”

According to the report, “when [officers] arrived, they saw a large gathering in the parking lot of the apartments. Three men had been shot multiple times and were lying on the ground while people were trying to render first aid. They were rushed to Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega.” is reporting, “Talladega Coroner Shaddix Murphy identified the victims as Montrelle Dontae Johnson, 22, and Djuante Nyjuwan Dickers, 23. Both men lived in Talladega…Johnson was taken to Citizens Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:06 a.m. Sunday. Dickerson was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:42 a.m. Sunday.”

The investigation is ongoing.
