Gunfire erupted Wednesday afternoon, Jan 11, 2023 at a Jackson, MS gas station leaving two people dead.

As reported by WJTV.com, “[t]he shooting happened on Wednesday, January 11 at a gas station in the 4600 block of Interstate 55 North. Two people were sitting inside a white pickup truck when multiple gunmen began shooting at them. They were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.”

According to the report, “Jackson police later said one of the victims died at the University of Mississippi Medical Center…the second victim died from his injuries on Saturday, January 14.”

WAPT.com is reporting, “[t]he Hinds County coroner identified the first victim as Steven Nicols, 31. The second victim has been identified as Christopher Oliver, 32.”

The shooting investigation is ongoing.
